MANZINI -While billions of people were celebrating Christmas, a Swazi was tied to a bench and suffocated for planning a democracy march in central Swaziland.

Swaziland now resembles the jungle as cops continue to assault advocates of political freedom.
A truck driver who has joined the struggle for a new, free Swaziland, Phila Fakudze (34), was assaulted by both Manzini and Sigodvweni police officers who raided his home and took his cellphone.

“I was suffocated with a plastic bag by 12 police officers. I was tied to a bench and assaulted. I was kept in police custody for 48 hours. The police told me to pray and tell God that I am coming. They forced me to admit to being a robbery suspect. I was forced to name innocent people. However, they released me after their evidence crumbled. “

Fakudze visited a Manzini health facility after he sustained pain on body.
Another New Parliament leader who was assaulted by 10 police officers is Thulani Motsa, who is the Swaziland Peoples Liberation Movement( SPLM) deputy president.

He was allegedly persecuted for organising the democracy march.
The Eswatini Royal Government tried to frame him with a crime.

Eswatini Police have seized Fakudze’s cellphone saying they are still investigating him.

Eswatini National Commissioner of Police William Dlamini have told Swazi police officers to stop assaulting suspects however he seems a powerless leader as his junior police officers continue to assault suspects willy-nilly.
